Pereira da Cunha: $2.5 million project from DOE to improve technology in power plants
Mauricio Pereira da Cunha, professor of electrical and computer engineering is a co-PI for a $2.5 million grant from the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) through the Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy. The project focuses on improving sensor technologies in coal-based power plants.
The UMaine project, “Technology Maturation of Wireless Harsh-Environment Sensors for Improved Condition-Based Monitoring,” is coordinated by the Laboratory for Surface Science and Technology, and is led by Professor Pereira da Cunha and Professor Robert Lad (Physics).
