Getting Started

For information on the graduate admission process and application materials, please contact the University of Maine Graduate School. A graduate degree in engineering or computing is typically required for careers in research, teaching, or advancing to professional positions early in your career. We recommend that students with a 3.0 GPA or higher pursue, at minimum, a 30-credit, one-year professional coursework master’s degree.

The Maine College of Engineering and Computing offers diverse research opportunities, ranging from fundamental to applied investigations. For research or teaching assistantships, contact the appropriate department or faculty member. Assistantship offers are based on the submission of a complete application, with most offers extended by departments or research units. Graduate students are also encouraged to utilize the Office of Student Financial Aid.
