Preparing for Advisor Meeting — Data Science & Engineering (UMaine)

Steps to get ready for your course‐registration advising appointment:

  1. Create (or reuse) a Google spreadsheet using the appropriate curriculum sheet:
  2. Include in the spreadsheet:
    • All courses you’re currently enrolled in,
    • Courses you’ve completed so far,
    • Grades for past semesters.
  3. Check the Student Resources page for the upcoming semester’s course offerings (typically available mid‑October for Spring, early March for Summer & Fall).
  4. Prioritize courses across different thematic areas rather than bunching them in a single theme.
  5. Add your chosen courses for the upcoming semester into your spreadsheet.
  6. Share the spreadsheet link with your advisor and schedule an advising appointment.
  7. After meeting, enroll in courses via MaineStreet.

Course enrollment for the the Fall 2025 semester starts March 31 2025.

These are the courses offered in Fall 2025 that are eligible for the DSE programs (*** indicates that courses are available online).
