Preparing for Advisor Meeting — Data Science & Engineering (UMaine)
Steps to get ready for your course‐registration advising appointment:
- Create (or reuse) a Google spreadsheet using the appropriate curriculum sheet:
- Include in the spreadsheet:
- All courses you’re currently enrolled in,
- Courses you’ve completed so far,
- Grades for past semesters.
- Check the Student Resources page for the upcoming semester’s course offerings (typically available mid‑October for Spring, early March for Summer & Fall).
- Prioritize courses across different thematic areas rather than bunching them in a single theme.
- Add your chosen courses for the upcoming semester into your spreadsheet.
- Share the spreadsheet link with your advisor and schedule an advising appointment.
- After meeting, enroll in courses via MaineStreet.
