John W. Allen joined the faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology in the Fall of 2005. Prior to lecturing at UMaine, Dr. Allen had worked as a design engineer in the semiconductor industry and as a circuit board design engineer in the sensor technology industry. His areas of expertise include printed circuit board design, analog electronics, circuit analysis techniques, power electronics, and engineering economics. He also lectures for the ECE department at UMaine and is a registered Professional Engineer in Maine. John is married and, along with his wife Sue and their children, lives in Corinth, Maine.
