Are you a rising high school junior or senior with a curiosity for the technology that powers the modern world? Don’t miss out on the 5-day Semiconductor Camp at the University of Maine!
From understanding the basics of bits and gates to exploring the intricate world of semiconductors and transistors, this camp gives you hands-on experience in the field of electronics. You’ll even get an exclusive tour of Texas Instruments and learn about the cutting-edge technologies that shape the future.
By the end of the week, you’ll be hands-on with testing, integrating, and building your own semiconductor system. From smartphones to spacecraft, discover how microchips are behind it all!

Day 1: Introduction to Semiconductors
- Understand the building blocks of semiconductors, bits, and gates.

Day 2: The Magic of Transistors

- Hands-on: Create simple transistor-based circuits.
Day 3: Advanced Semiconductor Devices
- Explore diodes and integrated circuits (ICs), and how they power modern technology.
- Hands-on: Test semiconductors and see how they work in action.
Day 4: Game-based Learning
- Learn semiconductor theory through interactive games.
- Explore the real-world applications of semiconductors in devices like smartphones, computers, and spacecraft.
Day 5: Texas Instruments Tour & Hands-on Project
- Tour the Texas Instruments facility and see the industry in action.
- Hands-on: Build your own semiconductor system and apply what you’ve learned.
